The Tiny Bow Code
Share
Each tiny bow on Jo Ramsay headpieces has a meaning. The tiny bows are a symbol of craftsmanship, care, and a nod to tradition.
When you take a closer look inside one of my pieces, you'll see a small bow sewn to the back of the head ribbon. It’s not there just for decoration. That little bow has an historical meaning as well as significance for my brand.
Before the invention of brand labels, these little bows were customised as a quiet signature of the hatmaker or milliner - each had their own bow colour and style.
Bows are placed at the back of the band to show you the way the hat should sit. The colour and style of the bows on my pieces signify whether they are custom-made pieces, limited-edition headwear, M'DAM items, bridalwear or pieces from the ready-to-wear collection.
Each one is tied by hand as a symbol of the care taken to handcraft Jo Ramsay Millinery.
