Reduce and Reuse

My studio is solar-powered and I minimise water usage when steaming, dyeing and laundering. Water-based stiffeners, dyes and cleaning agents are used in the studio, that have little or no impact on the environment.

I take care to limit the use of synthetics and I do not purchase new plastics or animal products. I enjoy re-using, repurposing, and reinventing with resources saved from landfill.

Most stitching is done by hand, together with moulding and shaping. When machine-stitching is needed, I rely on one of my antique Singer machines that are still going strong after more than 100 years.
